Start at the Pittsburgh Glass Center @ 5472 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, pick up a schedule and work your way up and down through our Penn arts district corridor for dozens ofexciting eco, tech and arts exhibits, open houses, fashion fun and more everyone will love!  It's Unblurred super-sized! Saturday, April 7 Union Project's MONSTER OPEN HOUSE   Come enjoy a full family day from  9:30 AM- 8 PM @ the Union Project, 801 N. Negley Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, enjoy pottery making, a kiddie monster fashion show, Special guests: mini Power Flower and Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, and a family a-go-go dance from  6-8 pm. Pittsburgh Beautification Project Studios (4810

Saint Chip. Plus work by resident studio artists 
Katy DeMent, Dean Cercone, James Shipman, 
Sigh Meltingstar, and Bob Ziller.

Optimus Tech (4820 Penn) ... 6-9pm ... Open 
house. Optimus designs and manufacturers fuel 
system retrofits that enable traditional engines to 
burn cleaner fuel. See one of their systems and 
meet its builders. Special guest: robot designer & 
sculptor Donald Jones.

explores an architecture that lacks permanence

GA/GI presents Pitt Mobile Science Lab (Penn 
at Pacific) ... 5-9pm ... Come see and experiment 
with the wondrous scientific materials that kids 
in middle school get to see, but adults usually 
don’t. Its all packed in an awesome 80-foot long, 
retrofitted trailer! 

Eastside Neighborhood Employment Ctr
(5321 Penn) … 6-9pm … Art based on scientific 
explorations of the fossil record, by 5th-grade 
students at the Environmental Charter School.

BFG Cafe (5335 Penn) ...  Open 6-10pm ... “Gather 
Round the Fire’s Green.” SpeakLife Storytellers 
Adam Keene, moderates an evening of shared 
eco story-telling and other green from 1 pm to 5 pm.

5426 Penn ... 6-9pm ...Artist Jessica Rutherford 
creates jewelry from plastic & glass that can not 
be recycled in Allegheny County. She’s joined by 
live action painter Kevin Wenner, who will be 
working in a large format painting on cargo paper.

Edge Studio (5411 Penn) ... 6-9pm ... L.J. Swiech 
creates high-impact, digital prints by painting 
with robots. Gordon Kirkwood photographs 
lightning bolts, and high voltage Kirlian photos of 
everyday objects. Music by Besame! The group specializes in Latin American music, with special emphasis on the sounds of Colombia. Their unique musical combination was born in 2005, when Jorge Delgado, Paul Cindric and Melissa Alliston were invited to play at the Colombian 
Independence Day celebration hosted by Colombia in Pittsburgh
The infamous Roger Day was added a few months later to complete their sound.

of their simple yet delectable eats and tell you

Pittsburgh Glass Center (5472 Penn) ... 6–9pm 
March of the Fashionistas, GA/GI’s newly 
formatted fashion showcase. The hottest eco, 
tech and vintage-inspired designers and boutique 
owners will showcase their clothing, their 
own creations or share fashion tips. Plus live 
glassblowing demonstrations will be ongoing 
and “Aspire: A Retrospective of Young Talent” 
will be on view in the Hodge Gallery. This event 
is free and open to the public. 412-365-2145. 
PLUS... Glass Center special guest: 
POWER FLOWER & LIQUID LIGHT! The 12' tall solar and wind energy harnessing sculpture Power Flower will be outside the Glass Center. This year the flower will be powering an internally lighted stream of water in an exhibition called Liquid Light. Water is transformed into a crystal clear state called "Laminar Flow" and has the ability carry and bend light, much like a fiber optic cable. GA/GI goers can get some fun hands-on playtime and make a splash that will not be forgotten. Thunderbolts of lighting!

 8 pm to 9:30 pm  is the first installation of "Living Exhibit" 
a dynamic exploration into the art of Steelpan construction, history, and playing techniques!  
Enjoy light refreshments as master artist Phil Solomon
(Solomon Steelpan Company and Steel Impressions) and Mat Docktor (Steel
Impressions and SOUNDWAVES Youth Steelband Ensemble instructor) share the
instruments.  Come by and learn about a whole new side of the steel city!

Verde (5491 Penn) ... 6pm-12am ... flavorful food 
with Latin origins that’s authentic. One of the 
largest tequila selections in Pennsylvania. Verde 
hosts: “The Black and Gold City Goes Green.” Pick
